Digital Advisor Associate

The Morgan Stanley Digital Advisor Associate (DAA) Program prepares driven, enthusiastic candidates to become Financial Advisors. Our DAA Program is comprised of a robust curriculum that provides you with the tools and knowledge required to create, support and manage digital strategies within Wealth Management. As a DAA, you will partner with selected Financial Advisors leveraging innovative tools and technology to better assist them in building their digital presence for business development.

A Training Process Geared Towards Your Success  

The DAA program offers you the resources needed to start a successful career through rigorous training and a comprehensive curriculum. The program lasts for two years and is broken out into three phases:

Phase 1

This phase includes Financial Advisor preparation skills such as business planning, product knowledge, consultative selling and prospecting.

DAAs are required to pass the Series 7 and Series 66 licenses. 

Phase 2

DAAs are immersed in digital tools and strategy training. They learn about the importance of their role within the Firm and as support to Financial Advisors.
Case studies and activities help them to thoroughly understand their role and the digital tools available at Morgan Stanley.

Phase 3

DAAs are paired with Financial Advisors to help increase their digital footprint and better engage with clients via social media platforms. DAAs will serve in a number of functions within the realm of designing and supporting digital marketing strategies.
As well as build their own book of business, while still focused on supporting digital marketing strategies for Financial Advisors. 

Upon completion of the 2-year program, DAAs will transition into our 3-year Financial Advisor Associate (FAA) Program. FAAs are responsible for using business-management knowledge, wealth planning knowledge and networking talents to provide clients with individualized and comprehensive financial services and investment strategies.

Job Responsibilities 

·         Create a comprehensive baseline assessment of Financial Advisors’ digital presence.

·         Designed a tailored digital engagement strategy to help meet Financial Advisors’ business objectives.

·         Structure detailed execution plans and timelines for digital strategy implementations.

·         Develop a transition plan to help ensure digital strategy continuity.

·         Support knowledge transfer of new digital tools or applications to Financial Advsiors and their teams.

·         Draft key communication messages that are relevant to the clients and potential clients that the FA wishes to connect with.

·         Co-lead digital engagement campaigns that execute on the agreed upon digital marketing strategy.

·         Complete proprietary training in finance, wealth planning, investment strategies and products.

·         Comply with all regulatory requirements, including licensing and registrations. 

Job Requirements

Successful candidates will be able to weave business management skills, wealth planning knowledge and networking talents to grow their own business, and support their clients by addressing a spectrum of financial and investment needs.  

·         Holder of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent to five years professional experience in business development, management, sales, legal, accounting, education, military, finance or other business-related.

·         Exemplary in communication, presentation, time-management and organizational skills.

·         Talented at networking with businesses and personal communities.

·         Authorization to work in the U.S. without durational restrictions.

·         Successful completion of background check and pre-employment assessments.  

Hiring Process

Our hiring procedure is a multistep process that can take four to six weeks to complete. Successful candidates can expect to complete online assessments, two or three rounds of interviews, and business planning exercises. All offers of employment are contingent on a background check.
